3-16-26   THOUGHTS

I will spare my comments this morning. I wanted to put these four passage areas together for us.  There’s quite a lesson here!

Jas 1:24  Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,  3  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  4  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Rom 5:3-5   And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;  4  and perseverance,  proven character; and proven character, hope; 5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Heb 12:6-10   FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." 7  It is for discipline that you endure;
God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8  But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9  Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?  10  For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.
Gen 4:7  [to Cain...]   "If you do well, will not [your countenance] be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you,
but you must master it."

Our prayer:
How wonderful You are our God of Love!  Father help us to learn and exercise mastery over our desires and lusts.  Chase double-mindedness from us.  Empower us to love You with all our heart, soul and mind.  Teach us to share in Your Holiness!  Increase our wanting as we serve You with pure hearts,  joyfully.   In the name of our Savior,   Amen.
